How Did The Song
04:04
|
|||
did you catch a song upon the wind
or carve it from the stone
did you hear it coming o’er the mountain
or read its scripted bones
did you feel from the forgotten place
the space between your toes
did you taste the color of its melody
dance rhythm’s prose
did it come to you like lightning would
or slowly through the veil
did its sonnet climb right out your throat
from the darkness it escaped
did it take you on a journey through
the faces of your past
did the memories last long enough
to turn phrase from their grasp
did it chase you in your dream time
cast its burden on your chest
did it wake you ‘neath the moon light
did it even let you rest
did it startle you by telling truth
you sworn silence til your death
did you let it have its way with you
this music on your breath
how did the song come
how did the song come
how did the song come
how did the song come
how did the song come
how did the song come
how did the song
how did the song
how did the song

Weightless
03:59
|
|||
i miss the stars
dripping thick like honey
from your heart
your dark light beating brightly
in the night
ancient stores of passion
dropping sudden wild confessions
in a breaking open fashion
i miss the long nights
where we’d dream right through each others devastation
miss the prayers we'd say, to bear the wieght of all this crazy making
miss the blissful shaking heartfelt stake we’d claim for making
love until the dawn
i miss the stars
dripping thick like honey
from your heart
your dark light beating brightly
in the night
ancient stores of passion
dropping sudden wild confessions
in a breaking open fashion
I miss the silk-ness in your voice
whispering through dissenting choices
miss the curious way you’d say my name
on windless flames and
seeing through the architecture’s
bold conjecture, sometimes less is more
when making out like bandits in the goldmine
of songs before time
i miss the stars
dripping thick like honey
from your heart
your dark light beating brightly
in the night
ancient stores of passion
dropping sudden wild confessions
in a breaking open fashion
for life how you breathe into me
sing of this mystery through
my listening feeling taking
over every moment
waiting for your next move
swell pushing comes rushing to
crash over everything
and leave me weightless
Among the stars….

Under My Skin
04:08
|
|||
how'd you get so far under my skin
i can feel you there listening
i can hear you lingering in my riddles of love
oh babe, its been years and years
since i started writing this song
so if your passing through
id say it wasn’t really about you
if you stay with me longer than tonight
ill just write and write and write
i’ve been writing love poems to the stars
trying to spell, spell out my heart
never dream id hear them respond
oh but babe when you looked at me last night so fondly
I swear i could hear
the song of a thousand lifetimes of fears
fall away to the fires i saw burning in your eyes
oh how long I've been chasing that sight
how'd you come to feel so much like home
like the place I've tried to find on my own
like the love I’ve been after with all these words
like the sound of the song in my heart
I know in my heart that you heard
and if your passing through
id say it wasn’t really about you
but if you'd stay with me longer than tonight
there's no telling what we could write
and if your passing through
id say it wasn’t really about you
if you'd stay with me longer than tonight
oh baby what could we write

Only Human
03:50
|
|||
you told me everything I longed to hear
you brought the sky down
that I might feel her constellations
the wild winds were moving, ecstatic visions came
mystic phrases revealing every inch of her temptation
you showed me a dream that I’d long forgot
a garden so rare, her flowers restored my innocence
for a moment it seemed our souls were being brought
together to give form to the ones who lives were to be born from our love
and I was only human
I could not resist
I was only human
longing for bliss
just a hot blooded woman
what am I to do
a part of me still waits for you
in that garden under the moon
once I was a believer in stories of great love
designs of a feverish light on eyes of giants
where ancient flames were rising, fashioned as twins
well babe I’ve had soul mate or two
but damn I thought you might be it
and I was only human
I could not resist
I was only human
longing for bliss
just a hot blooded woman
what am I to do
a part of me still waits for you
in that garden under the moon
holy wild revive me
all of this emotion and writhing beauty
prophecies unbind me I can only keep
a secret for so long
and I was only human
I could not resist
I was only human
longing for bliss
just a hot blooded woman
what am I to do
a part of me still waits for you
under the moon

Crucible
05:13
|
|||
I’ve been holding on to something that isn’t real
couldn’t be lost, couldn’t be found
i’ve been wondering how long i could bear to feel
stuck in the sound, between the sky and the ground
hovering in suspension
i disappear
everything i’ve come to know
surrendered
and offered to the records
of remembering
this longing is such a crucible
of wandering among the half dead and half hearted
I don’t have much more to give and truth be told
i’m not sure that I ever did
but in the spark i saw the art of a memory
making its way down the halls of my darkest dreams
there were portraits on the walls of the lovers i had lost
in the fires of a dawning that couldn’t come soon enough
and maybe i had it wrong, the pictures in my mind
so many shapes and so many faces
every time i chase the song, what do i find
pleasures untasted, moments i wasted
wandering the realms of regret
you disappear
and everything we came to be
to one another’s
been broken by a hunger
and a thundering
this longing is such a crucible
of wandering among the half dead and half hearted
I don’t have much more to give and truth be told
i’m not sure that I ever did
but in the spark i saw the art of a melody
making its way down the trail of my sweetest dreams
there were poems in the flowers in the shimmering night light was
moving to the muses there was only us and you of course the
picture of an angel who’s soul was on fire with
the love that id been aching for all the while, all the while
the edges of my heart beat beat beat against the walls
of a mind that was shattering, shattering, shattering
death don’t you come, i’m having way too much fun
death don’t you come, i’m having way too much fun
death don’t you come don’t you come don’t you dare come death
strike me a bargain
I'm one of your own kind
oh death so kind of you
oh death it was so kind of you to come
oh death so kind of you
oh death it was so kind of you to come

Picture Of The Moon
03:09
|
|||
i took a picture of the moon
you couldn’t see what i saw, her splendor in full bloom
the shadows on her face, and her peachy cream allure
the warm summer breeze blowing through all demure
you couldn't tell i felt she knew me to the core
an old story-keeper, of every lover I've adored
a dance of elegance across a lonely stretch of night
im pretty sure that you just saw a fuzzy yellow light
I drew a portrait of the muse
poised under a waterfall in every shade of blue
but all you saw were colored lines, the contours of her thighs
the way i tried to blend the hues to show how the mists rise
you couldn’t feel the water pound against the rock
or how the smell of wet stone made me feel things id forgot
or how the faces in the canyon echoed her decent
you could only see the markings
of my novice pen
i wrote a love song for you
to tell you what you meant
but all you heard was the tune
you couldn’t feel the heat of suns colliding in my bones
the wakening of wonder at the wild light in my tones
you couldn’t hear how my heart was breaking free
to feel for once the nuances of longings sweet decree
and how a hopeless love blazed in me for you like a dying star
all you heard were the words
and the strum of my guitar
i took a picture of the moon
i drew a portrait of the muse
i wrote a love song for you
but all you heard
all you heard
was the music

Cloudburst
05:34
|
|||
rain falls down
on the face of a still lake
down pour
down pour
each drop carries the song
of a thousand years of rain
waters dance her open
kissing the heart of her name
and it sounds like
and it sounds
like a cloudburst
cloudburst
cloudburst
oh rain down on me
touch every part of me
With song
the lake in love with the cloud
calls out
Calls out
to her sky bound beloved
yet the cloud
who’s life is charged
to carry on the melodies of rain
has already blown away
such is the music of the lake and the sky
such is the music of water and the night
their love lives
as a cloudburst
cloudburst
cloudburst

Woodstock
05:51
|
|||
I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
I asked him where are you going
And this he told me
I'm goin down to Yasgur's farm
Gonna join in a rock 'n' roll band
I'm gonna to camp out on the land
Im gonna set my soul free
We are stardust
We are golden
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
Then can I walk beside you
I have come here to lose the smog
And I feel to be a cog in something turning
Well maybe it is just the time of year
Or maybe it's the time of man
I don't know who I am
But you know life is for learning
We are stardust
We are golden
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
By the time we got to Woodstock
We were half a million strong
And everywhere there was song and celebration
And I dreamed I saw the bombers
Riding shotgun in the sky
They were turning into butterflies
Above our nation
We are stardust
Billion year old carbon
We are golden
Caught in the devil's bargain
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

Origami
05:13
|
|||
saw you hiding something special
in your heart shaped origami fold
feeling like I’m ‘bout to strike gold
loves river it keeps flowing
are you standing still or jumping in
to the wonder that’ surrounding
It’s washing over
washing over
washing over
washing over
so come on
tell me all about this world we’re saving
and what
kind of super hero you think you’re playing
as long
as we lose the mask at the end of the day
and gaze upon the naked truth again
i like the way your body moves
when your gazing at the devils muse
seems like heaven placed its bet on you
and I’m about to cash in
don’t know much about your mythic realms
or what your gospel’s trying to sell
or what your latest theory tells
about this feeling
It’s washing over
Washing over
Washing over
Washing over
so come on
tell me all about this world we’re saving
and what
kind of super hero you think you’re playing
as long
as we lose the mask at the end of the day
and gaze upon the naked truth again
time stands still
only love seems real
breathing as one with a
dream inside of a dream
suddenly falling in love with
everything
so come on
tell me all about this world we’re saving
and what
kind of super hero you think you’re playing
as long
as we lose the mask at the end of the day
and gaze upon the naked truth again
got a crush a crush on existence
royal flush absolves all resistance
got a crush a crush on existence
royal flush absolves all resistance
got a crush a crush on existence
royal flush absolves all resistance
got a crush a crush on existence
royal flush absolves all resistance
(washing over

Keep The Light On
05:32
|
|||
ill keep the light on
so you know that i was home
if you hear my voice upon the wind
know i’m singing you a song
hear the humming of the trees around you
breathing peace into the air
theres a new moon the darkness blooming
makes the stars that much more clear
and the sky is scrying out yours dream now
tumbling down in puzzle light
ill draw any sort of creature for you
on which to take your flight
ill keep the light on
so you know’d i was home
if you hear my voice upon the wind
know im singing you a song
about the fireflies they're spying on you
i heard them whispering your name
telling stories of your heroism
and all the magic that you bring
and now their forming you a path to follow
lighting shadows one by one
bringing you back closer to me baby
so i can hold you in my arms
ill keep the light on
so you know’d i was home
if you hear my voice upon the wind
know im singing you a song
